A role within the Risk Division that provides specialist support to supervisors in various risk specialisms. One of these is operational risk, where the team provides expert capability in operational risk management frameworks, governance, Basel implementation (AMA), IT, and other areas.

The main areas the team supports are: operational risk frameworks, AMA readiness, operational risk capital modelling, business continuity planning, outsourcing, information technology robustness and suitability, IT security, and general governance arrangements at firms.
This job posting is for an Associate specialising in operational risk modelling and is classed in the Actuarial and Risk Review job family.
The position specifically involves:
· Leading or participating in firm visits to provide supervisors with a fact-based view on whether or not a firm's risk operational risk model provides sufficient comfort, and where this is not the case, recommended action points. These model reviews may be for banks or insurance firms as the methodologies employed are comparable.
· Desk-top review of firm documents to form a view or prompt supplementary questions to firms. This would occur most typically for Pillar 1 or Pillar 2 operational risk model reviews.
· Contributing to projects and thematic work on operational risk modelling capabilities at firms, including backwards engineering of models, and research using external data sets.
· Keeping up to date with developments in risk management practices.
